Rebecca Beabout has been named Interim Principal of St. Vincent de Paul School in Wheeling, effective immediately.
“After advertising for the position and convening a group of talented lay people to assist me in a review process, we have concluded that we will put in place an interim principal for the 2011-2012 school year while launching a search process for principal in the spring semester,” said Fr. John Mulcahy, pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and designated pastor for its school.
“I am pleased that Mrs. Beabout will serve as Interim Principal,” Mulcahy said. “She has been a dedicated member of our faculty for 16 years and has earned the respect of our faculty, parish and school families.”
In addition, Lori Buchanan has agreed to be the Assistant Principal. Mrs. Buchanan has been teaching at SVS for 5 years.
“I am confident that with Mrs. Beabout, Mrs. Buchanan and I working together with our faculty and parents, we are uniquely positioned to have yet another successful year at St. Vincent’s,” Fr. Mulcahy added.
Beabout takes over for Arica Holt, who left the position as principal at SVS in July to pursue other opportunities.
