Building 21st Century Learning Environments
Our schools have placed a focus on creating 21st Century learning environments for their students. During the 2007-2008 school year, each school received a Smart board and projector through a generous grant through the Benedum Foundation which plans to enhance the fine arts in our schools through technology. In addition, three schools have Smart Boards in every classroom allowing the teachers to utilize the interactive tool throughout their daily instruction. There are several more schools with plans to reach that same goal. Additionally, there are two schools who have added wireless mobile labs, and many schools who are incorporating other interactive technology including, wireless slates, Palms, student response systems and digital video. Along with continual hardware and software upgrades, teacher training will continue to be a priority for schools to assist teachers with the successful integration of technology as a tool for student learning.
